Jabez AMES
388
In 1800, Jabez is age 26-44, having emgirated from Marshfield. In 1810, Jabez is age 45 or older, so he was 35 or older in 1800, for a birthdate range of 1756 to 1765. He doesn't seem to appear in the 1830 census, supporting Farrow's death date.
Assuming that the oldest female in Jabez Ames' household each census year is Jane, her birthyear is an assumption as she was 45 or older in 1820, age 16-25 in 1800, and, therefore, about age 25 in 1800. Her daughter Grace was born in 1790 and Jane would've been only 15 years of age. Though possible, Jane was probably born earlier than 1775.

In 1850, Jane, age 77 (born c. 1773), is listed in the household of Isaac Ames (likley Jane Gilkey Ames' son) in Northport (the closest point to Islesboro on the mainland), supporting the previous assumption.
