Charles' WWI draft registration card gives his name as "Charles Frederick" and his wife's name as "Lillian M."
Charles Frederick, Jr., enlisted Jan 1921 at Camp Devens, Mass., and was discharged the following March, probably for medical reasons. Unmarried, he was admitted to the Disabled Veterans Hospital in Togus, ME, in 1930, suffering from epilepsy, grand mal seizures and possibly mental disease. He was eventually released to his mother's care.
