In 1861, Charles B Veazie enlisted{/super 328} in the First Maine Infantry, Co G{/super 554} or Co H{/super 328}. He received a disability discharge{/super 328} in March or May 1863.
Charles and Addie apparently had just one child, Willie, who died young. Addie is listed in the 1900 census as mother of 1, none living. Adeline is likely the daughter of William and Mary Pillsbury as William was a Methodist minister in Bucksport, ME, and the Ellsworth (Hancock Co., ME) Herald, on Jun 9, 1865, announced the marriage on May 14, in Bucksport, by W. H. Pilsbury, Esq., of Charles B. Veazie of Bangor to Adeline R. Pilsbury of Buckport. In addition, William and Mary had a son Nathaniel M. Pilsbury who emigrated to Fremont, NE, and with whom Charles became a partner there in a hardware store.
