Robert died4550 Oct 9, 1921, in Edenville Township, Midland Co., Michigan, of cancer of the face. His death certificate, for whom Charles Barkley (his son?) was the informant, lists him as a widower; birth date and place Nov 22 1842, Genesee Co., Mich; wife Elizabeth Barkley; father Crawford Barkley; and mother Sarrah(sic) Haynes(sic).
In the 1880 census1294, Elizabeth Barkley, wife of Robert Barkley, is age 37 (born ~1843), and, more significantly, her father was born in England, and her mother in Canada. From that information, and the established marriage1289 of Eber Woolfitt to Frances Barkley (Robert's sister), it is assumed she is Elizabeth Woolfitt, daughter of John (born England) and Jane (born Canada) Woolfitt.
In 19001295, Elizabeth is listed as the mother of 3, all 3 living.
