David was a farmer.

David Bideler died⁵⁰³⁶ "of a paralytic" attack at his residence near Cooper's Plains, aged about 74 years. He had been a farmer for many years in the valley of Mead's Creek. He was well thought of by neighbors and friends. He was survived by his wife and five daughters: Mrs Alonzo Davis of Reading; Mrs Charles H Waterhouse; Mrs C H Veazie of Cooper's Plains, and 2 unmarried daughters.

The 1885 obituary²⁵¹¹ for George Bideler, David's brother, mentions the "late David Bideler, of Mead's Creek." Mead's Creek was a small community on Mead's Creek Road (Steuben Co., NY), about a mile north of Cooper's Plains.

A headstone⁸⁴⁰ in East Campbell Cemetery (AKA Meads Creek Cemetery), East Campbell, Steuben Co., NY, reads: "Malura M. wife of David Bideler and daughter of John & Esther Franklin died Nov. 4 1841 aged 2[1 or 4] years [5] months and [28] days." Malura's birth date is calculated assuming an age at death of 24 yrs 5 mos and 28 days.
