The obituary4825 for Isaac Davis states he died at the home of his only remaining relative, his daughter, Mrs Hattie D Veazie, in Brockport. Born at Harpers, Delaware Co., NY, Oct 25, 1802, he moved to Brockport in 1848 and resided there the remainder of his life. Early in life, he was a teacher. Starting in 1851, he engaged in the grocery business, continuing in several locations until Jan 12, 1887, when his store on Market Street was destroyed by fire. He was previously a Justice of the Peace, and county clerk of Orleans County.
