Married²²⁰ 1852~²²⁰. In 1900, Daniel and Angeline are listed²²⁰ as married for 48 years.

Early in life, Daniel was a sawyer⁶⁵⁶, a farmer¹⁰⁵⁰, and a carpenter⁶⁶⁴. In 1880, Daniel's occupation²³¹ was chairmaker, likely involved in the manufacturing of "Cooper Rockers," first made in Coopers Plains, NY, circa 1850, and now considered quite collectable by antique dealers and collectors. By 1900, Daniel had established the Barkley store in Coopers Plains, a general store typical of the era. His daughter Edna was still running the store well into the 1950s.

Angeline Seybolt, age14, is listed in the household of William and Sally "Sybolt" in the 1850 census⁶⁵⁶ for Bradford, NY. In that same census, but in a different enumeration of the household of Sarah Sybolt (William not listed), Angeline is listed as age 15. In 1855, Angeline appears⁶⁰³⁰ (enumerated 11 June) as the wife of Daniel Barkley, age 19, with children Mary H (age 2) and Alberto (age 3 months).

The 1900 census, enumerated June 16, has Angeline's birthdate listed as Sept 1834, her age 65. Her daughter Hyla's family list, Angeline's headstone in Coopers, and the majority of censuses imply a birthyear of 1835.
