Melissa Forresta TRIM b. 1844~⁶⁷⁵ at Maine⁶⁷⁵. d. 1876~⁸⁴⁰ at murdered on the farm of her father near Bucksport, ME³³⁰². bd. memorial marker, Locust Grove Cem., Hampden, ME⁸⁴⁰.

Married²³¹⁷ 1868 Apr 15²³¹⁷ at Brewer, ME²³¹⁷. The Maine Marriages index²³¹⁷ has "Lizzie T Trimms" as the bride for this marriage. That Lizzie Trimms is Melissa F Trim, daughter of Robert Trim, is indicated by the story of her murder³³⁰², which mentions Melissa Thayer as both the daughter of Robert Tim and the wife of Orin Thayer.
In 1850, Orin P Thayer, age 10, resided⁴¹⁰⁸ in the home of Zacheus and Malinda Thayer. Without reference or indication of parents, other information⁸⁴⁰ states Orin was adopted at age 4 into the home of Mary Emerson Pettengill, of Etna, ME.
In 1850, Melissa is listed as Forresta, age 6. In 1860, the census lists daughter Meslissa age 16. It is assumed those two entries represent the same child.
