Marcus died¹⁷⁷⁴ at the age of 62y 9m 2d, of mitral stenosis, contributed to by bronchitis. His birthdate is estimated from that data. He was married at the time of his death. Marcus served in Co B of the 60th Mass Inf. On Dec 28 1896, he was declared³⁴⁵³ an invalid; on May 19, 1903, Antionette F Hobart filed a claim for the pension as a widow. Marcus served³⁴⁵⁴ for 3 months between July 16 and Nov 30, 1864.
