In 1880, Charles was listed⁸⁶² as a retail grocer. In 1900, Charles, a widower, had residing⁷⁸⁰ with him his daughter Edith, George H Bliss, brother-in-law, and Nellie M Bliss, his niece. He is listed as a merchant.

The informant for Charles' death certificate¹⁷⁷⁴ was his daughter Miss Edith M Crane, 66 Irving St, W. Medford, MA. At the time of his death, he was a retired provision dealer.

Mary died of typhoid fever and malaria at the age of 54y 11m 26d. Her birth date is calculated from that information. Sprague⁸⁴¹ has the same date.
