The 1843 will⁴⁴⁷⁸ of David Darling mentions wife Huldah; son Henry; son David; daughter Polly "Veizie"; daughter Sally Harrington?; daughter Rebecca Eddy; daughter Nabby? Ketchum; William Ketchum (in trust for the benefit of daughter Nabby?); and deceased sons George, Oliver, Andrew and William.

David Darling, married, age 78y 9m 12d, died¹⁷⁷⁴ of typhoid fever. His parents are listed as David and Melissa Darling. His birth date is calculated from his age at death is Jan 13, 1768. Rhode Island Vital Extracts⁴³⁸¹, Rhode Island Vital Records⁹⁴⁷, and Rhode Island Birth and Christenings⁴³⁸⁰ (from the image for the latter), have date Jan 12, 1768, which are preferred. His birth record⁴³⁸⁰ lists his parents as"David & Melea." The marriage record⁴³⁸⁰ for David Darling and "Melea Veazey" lists their fathers respectively as Ebenezer Darling and Eleazer Veazey.

The image of David Darling's headstone (Southview Cem., North Adams, Mass.) has his death date as Oct 23, 1846. That is preferred over Mass. Deaths¹⁷⁷⁴ as the headstone information may more likely be from a family member.

The will⁴⁴⁷⁸ of David Darling mentions wife Huldah. The records for Adams, Massachusetts, also has a marriage³²⁷² for a David Darling and Abigail Hogg (or Fogg), "both of Adams," marriage intention entered Aug 16, 1786. No indication has been found whether that David Darling is the same man of the will⁴⁴⁷⁸ herein referenced, or Huldah and Abigail are the same person, or David married Huldah second. Further, there is no clear indication when David and Huldah were married.

She is likely the Huldah Darling who, in 1850, resided⁵¹¹ in the household of Alexander Better in North Adams, Massachusetts.

Huldah Darling, "relict of the late David Darling, Esq.," died⁴⁴⁹³ in North Adams, MA, June 12, 1853, at age 74. The death records⁸⁵⁵ for North Adams record her death date as June 11 (preferred), and her birthplace as Rhode Island.

The death record¹⁷⁷⁴ for Rebecca Eddy indicates she was born ~1807 in Adams, MA, to David and Huldah Darling. A legal notice⁴⁴⁷⁶ to the heirs and next-of-kin of her brother David Darling mentions her husband Preserved Eddy.
