William Wortman, "of Wayne" died6050 14 Jun 1888, Wayne, NY. Another notice on that same page mentioned William Wortman's brother "Elijah Wortman, of So. Bradford." In the North Urbana section of that page, it was noted that William's funeral was held at the Baptist (Jun 16); the Masonic Lodge of Tyrone assisted in the ceremony; burial was in the cemetery at Wayne.

A legal notice [The (Hammondsport, NY) Herald, Wed, Jan 15, 1890; fultonhistory.com] detailed an administrator's sale of the real estate of William Wortman, land situated in Wayne, NY, Lewis R McGowan (elsewhere identified as William's brother-in-law) adminstrator.

William's death was also mentioned in the obituary5540 of (wife) Mary (McGowan aka Wortman) Thompson as "who died in the early summer of 1888." His headstone840 in Wayne Village Cem., Wayne, Schuyler Co., NY, reads: "William Wortman / Died / June 14, 1888 / Age 58 y's / 6 m's & 23 d's." His birth date is calculated from that information.

The McGowan family bible5532 lists Mary's full name and birth date.

The 1895 obituary5540 of Mary E Thompson mentions she was the wife of Emmett Thompson of North Urbana; she died suddenly in the store of F Hedges, Bradford, NY. That obituary also provides her full birthdate, birth place, parents, exact marriage date to William Wortman, approx marriage date to Emmett Thompson, and the names of her two daughters (Annie and Hattie), and her burial place.

Anna Wortman was listed{\supr 5548} as age 8 months in 1875.

Anna Frances Wortman (obit, Hammondsport NY Herald, Wed, Feb 24, 1909) died Feb 15 at Sonyea, NY, of typhoid fever. She had working as a nurse at the Craig Colony. Her funeral was held at North Urbana, and was buried in the family plot in Wayne Village Cemetery.
