Thomas Marsten Jordan was a carpenter and farmer. After moving from Maine to Minnesota sometime between 1850 and 1857, Thomas and Lavina settled in the Monticello area just northwest of Minneapolis, where they remained through 1885.

Thomas (or perhaps his son Thomas, Jr.) is involved in land transactions in 1869 and 1884 in Greenleaf and St Cloud. The 1869 transaction registered in the Greenleaf office as a homestead entry is listed as Document No. 1.

Child 5. Judson

Jordan722 states that Juson enlisted in the U S Army in the War Between the States, and was killed in battle in 1862. He may be the Judson A Jordan who enlisted1008 at Marqueete, MI, and on 31 July 1861 joined the First Michigan Infantry, Company I. That is the same date and location, and even the same company that Samuel Starrett, the man his sister Jane would marry, enlisted with. That Judson Jordan mustered out at Gaines' Mill, VA, 27 Jun 1862.

In any case, Judson does not seem to appear in any records after 1862.

Child 7. AliceIn 1857, Alice was enumerated with Charles B Jordan, her brother, next-door to her father's home. In 1880, Alice (unmd) is living with her parents, listed as a teacher.
