In 1880, Harry is an hotel keeper. In 1895, he is a brakeman for the railroad. In 1900, he is a commercial salesman; in 1905, a traveling salesman. In 1910, he is a nursery salesman. His place of birth is: 1880 - Illinois; 1900 - Nebraska; 1905 - Illinois. It appears his father was born in Ohio or Maine, and his mother Kentucky.
In 1900, Rose is mother of 4, 4 living; married 24 years. Rose's death index entry gives her middle name (her grandmother's first name). In 1920, Rose (widow) is listed as "mother" in the family of Harry Chappell, head, age 23; Sarah Chappell, wife, age 20 and May Chappell, daughter, age 1yr 7mos (as of 7 Jun). What her relationship is to this family is uncertain.

Child 1. Carrie-Bird{Jordan} has child "Carrie-Bird,10 b. June 17,1876, at Wadena, Minn." In 1880, she is listed as Carrie R. In 1885 and 1895, she is listed as "Bird."

Child 3. JayIn 1900, Jay (living with his parents) is a "h collar sticker." In 1905 (living with his parents), he is a fireman (eng.). In 1910 (living with his parents, single), he is a collar stitcher at a harness shop.

Child 4. NeilIn 1900, "Harry, Jr.," age 17, living with his parents, is a "PO messenger." In 1885 and 1895, he is listed as "Neil." His death index entry and WWI draft registration card list "Neil Harry Presson." Strangely, Neil's birthdate on his WWI draft reg card is given as Jul 13, 1879, his address is the same as for Harry F Presson in the 1890-1891 directory for St Paul (233 E 7th). His draft registration lists his nearest relative as Eva Hart Presson (same address).
